ChatGPT Plus vs Pro 100
Plus ($20/mo) is the right plan for almost everyone. Pro now comes in three tiers, $100, $200 and $500 a month, and each mainly buys more usage (roughly 5x, 10x and 25x Plus) with no five-hour limit, plus GPT-6 Pro in chat. Upgrade only if Codex or Work limits stop you several times a week.

Which plan should you get?
Get ChatGPT Plus if…
You use ChatGPT heavily but rarely see a usage limit, or only hit it now and then. Plus has the same flagship models for daily work, and occasional overflow is cheaper with credits than with Pro.
Try ChatGPT →Get ChatGPT Pro 100 if…
You run Codex or ChatGPT Work for hours every day and the five-hour limit costs you real time. Start with Pro 100; the $200 and $500 tiers are for agent-heavy work all day.

- You hit the Plus five-hour limit in Codex or Work several times a week.
- Your monthly spend on extra credits approaches $80.
- You need GPT-6 Pro for hard reasoning tasks on a regular basis.
- Waiting on output is the bottleneck in your work (that's the case for Pro 500's Ultrafast).
The fine print
The Pro usage multipliers (about 5x, 10x and 25x Plus) come from OpenAI staff posts and DevDay coverage rather than the pricing page. Plus and Pro are billed monthly only; mobile app-store prices can differ, and API usage is billed separately.

Questions the Humans Keep Asking
How much is ChatGPT Pro?
There are three Pro tiers: $100, $200 and $500 a month. They differ mainly in included usage, and only the $500 tier has Ultrafast mode.
What changed with ChatGPT Pro in 2026?
At DevDay on September 29, 2026, OpenAI added the $500 Pro tier and cut the $200 tier's Codex and Work usage from 20x to 10x Plus for new subscribers. Existing subscribers keep the old allowance until late October 2026.
Is ChatGPT Pro worth it over Plus?
Only if usage limits are your problem. Pro doesn't add much else for typical use, and each tier costs about the same per unit of usage as Plus.
