How the Overlord does the math
Every model uses the same transparent formula. None of these numbers come from a study of real businesses — they are the Overlord's deliberately conservative assumptions, written down so you can disagree with them.
- Base volume. Each model has a number of units (clients, sales, subscribers, or thousands of views) a 10-hour-a-week intermediate reaches after a year at a typical price.
- Skill. Beginner ×0.5, intermediate ×1, expert ×1.6.
- Hours. Volume scales with (hours ÷ 10)0.6 — more time helps, with diminishing returns. Four times the hours is not four times the money.
- Price. Volume scales with (typical price ÷ your price)0.8. Charging more wins fewer customers, but usually more revenue.
- Ramp. Nothing happens for the first few months (the "gate", e.g. building a portfolio or meeting platform monetization requirements), then volume ramps toward the 12-month level.
- Capacity. Service models are capped by your hours: about 60% of your time goes to delivery (4.33 weeks a month), the rest to selling and admin.
- Range. Low = likely × 0 at 3 months, × 0.1 at 6, × 0.25 at 12. High = likely × 2. Figures are monthly revenue before taxes and platform fees.
